KELOWNA – Chances Kelowna has received the approval from Kelowna City Council to proceed with their expansion plans. These expansion plans include the addition of table games, such as Blackjack, Mini Baccarat, Roulette, Let It Ride, and Three Card Poker. The incorporation of these games is a long time in the making and will add to Chances Kelowna’s offering of bingo and slot machines.
This development comes at the behest of casino rival, Playtime Casino, who have long had the title of being the lone casino in Kelowna that offered table games. According to Playtime Casino, Chances Kelowna’s bid for table games, in their opinion, would be stealing their share of the market. According to Playtime Casino General Manager, Clarissa Pruden, Chances Kelowna has always been known to Kelowna residents as the bingo casino while Playtime Casino was always known for its table games.
The two casinos have been able to co-exist in the Kelowna market for many years now but without directly competing against each other because of each casino’s different offerings. Despite being only a few kilometres away from each other location-wise, it remains to be seen how these two casinos will compete for the market share of gamblers in Kelowna.
